Marguerite D. · caregiver check in
Hi Denise, it's Kathryn from the care team. How has the month been?11:14 AM
Not good, honestly. She's gone down twice. Both at night, both in the hallway. No injury either time but I only found out about the second one because I heard it.11:14 AM
That's two falls in a month, and unwitnessed. I want to take that seriously. Has anything else changed since we spoke in June?11:15 AM
Her words. She's calling everything "that thing" now. In May she'd say the kettle. Now it's that thing, and she gets frustrated when I don't guess right.11:16 AM
Is she still washing herself independently?11:17 AM
No. That's new, the last three weeks or so. I have to stand there. She hates it and I hate it.11:17 AM
How are you doing? You've mentioned sleeping over.11:19 AM
Four nights a week now. I stopped my own physio, there just isn't the time. I'm fine.11:19 AM
You're entitled to $2,500 a year in respite through GUIDE and you haven't used any of it. I'd like to set up eight hours a week starting Monday.11:21 AM
Alright. Yes. Thank you.11:22 AM
One more thing. The voice read on today's call moved sharply on the speech production side, not the memory side, and with the falls and her being on warfarin I don't want to sit on that. I'm booking an MRI this week and getting Dr. Barrera to see her within seven days.11:26 AM
You think it's a stroke?11:27 AM
I think it's worth ruling out, and it's a quick thing to rule out. I'd rather look now than at her September review.11:27 AM
Clarity signal
Scan Jul 29 found a subacute lacunar infarct in the left corona radiata. Her September review was five weeks away.
